New Best Students Papers from 15 Conferences: HOW , WHY and WHERE ? ? ? (Please, read and forward this by email)

After evaluation on the FULL Paper of the proposed papers from the
Session Chairmen
we are glad to announce the following best Student papers.
Unlike, other meetings (outside the WSEAS), the WSEAS is very careful
to whom it gives the "Best Student Paper Prize". From each Session,
the Session Chairman in his report, can propose some papers or some
papers (2 or 3 maximum) that have been presented by a Student and have
up to 2 authors (the student and his supervisor).
(Special Cases: As an exception, only papers with very high quality
with a Student and two other co-authors can be proposed for the
prize.)
The WSEAS sends the package of all the chairmen report in a 5 members
Technical Committee and after some time period, they send us the best
student papers. This is the reason why sometimes the evaluation of the
best student paper is slow.
For example, below, you can find the best student paper of the WSEAS
Conference of September 2007 (ECC)
as well as WSEAS Conferences of December 2007 and January 2008

We would like to invite You or another member of your
team to organize a Special Session WSEAS Technical Committees yet.
(If the opinion of the WSEAS Technical Committees is negative for some
special session,
i.e. the special session is rejected, then we remove it from

In the WSEAS Conferences, the accepted papers of a Special Session are
published in:

(1) Books (All these Books participate in ISI, IEE, ELSEVIER, SCOPUS
etc...)

After the Impressive Results for the WSEAS Journals (see SJR factors
below), we have started now
the FREE and OPEN Publication of the PDF of the accepted papers on the
Web.

Free for all the Scientists to Publish & Free to Download everything!

So, our authors will be able to receive more citations.
This is necessary for the WSEAS impact, since now all the PDFs will be
open for all and we must
be competitive regarding the scientific quality.

The main criterion for publication is: Scientific Quality: Original
Work, Breakthrough Publications that
will bring CITATIONS to the Authors and to the WSEAS of course.

Example of OPEN PDFs
http://www.worldses.org/journals/economics/economics-march2007.htm

Simultaneously, the Journals will be published in HARD COPY. If
somebody needs the hard copy, he will pay
the cost.

* Unfortunately for the old issues we cannot open their PDFs because
we have some constraints
from the subscribers.

On the other hand, WSEAS puts the bar for acceptance extremely high.
We have given instructions to the Reviewers.
See: http://www.worldses.org/review/index.html

Our Statistics for the WSEAS Journals say that for every 10 papers, 1
is accepted and 9 is rejected, approximately. We are waiting the
review of extended papers from July 2007 - December 2007 to announce
the official statistics per journal. Up to now, the rejection rate is
approximately: 10% accepted, 90% rejected

NEWS in TECHNOLOGY -- OUR TECHNOLOGICAL NEWS:

Gerhard Steinbeck, of Ludwig Maximilians University (Munich, Germany),
one of the authors of the study, stated, I know a little bit about
the Super Bowl. Its reasonable to think that something quite similar
might happen. [MSBNC/AssociatedPress]

The researchers have their results published (Cardiovascular Events
during World Cup Soccer) in the Thursday, January 31, 2008 issue of
The New England Journal of Medicine.

In the paper, they associate emotional stress for causing heart
attacks and other cardiac emergencies, along with the increased
frequency of heart problems from such common sports-watching
activities as overeating, eating junk food, drinking too much
alcoholic beverages, and smoking.

The Steinbeck team includes: Ute Wilbert-Lampen, David Leistner, Sonja
Greven, Tilmann Pohl, Sebastian Sper, Christoph Vo"lker, Denise
Gu"thlin, Andrea Plasse, Andreas Knez, and Helmut Ku"chenhoff.

Studying 4,279 patients, they found increased frequencies of heart
attacks, cardiac arrests, episodes of irregular heartbeat, and
activations of automatic implanted defibrillators when watching
sporting events where the viewers are emotionally involved.

The researchers found an increase of such problems during the
Fe'de'ration Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) World Cup
competition in Germany from June 9 to July 9, 2006.

Just how much of an increased chance of heart problems did people have
during the sporting event? Please read on.
